The Sharp family has proudly called Shelby County, Alabama home for over 40 years and is where they raised their four children, three of which are now married with children of their own. Right here in the valley on 41, the Sharps and DSLD Land Management Company (the family business) have enjoyed contributing to the well-being of their community. Their appreciation and love for their neighbors and hometown is a core value for them as it is for many in Shelby County. At DSLD, our commitment to philanthropy is deeply rooted, with a special focus on supporting Shelby County’s most vulnerable children... in the foster care system. The Sharps and DSLD Land Management Company thank God for the opportunity to serve and look forward to doing more in the future as the Lord provides.
Annual donations to the King’s Home in Chelsea, the Grace House in Birmingham, as well as Shelby County Foster & Adoptive Parents Association.
Collaborate with Shelby County DHR, David and Helen have fostered 34 children over the past twenty years, adopting one of them.
David has held leadership roles on the National Foster Parent Association (NFPA) Board of Directors and the North American Council on Adoptable Children (NACAC) Board of Directors.
Engineering and planning services for King’s Home at both the girls’ and boys’ campus to build & install new swimming pools.
